Question: We are interested in “revamping” our backyard. We were thinking of installing an outdoor kitchen and eating area along with plantings and outdoor lighting. Is it possible to plan a design and set the project in phases to fit our budget?

Answer: Yes, it is possible to phase a project of this scale. Several factors to plan for in possible phasing are design time, permitting (if necessary), and time of year. Hardscapes and masonry can be done up until frost, while plantings are best left for spring and fall.

Question: How do you get rid of stinkbugs? They're all over my tomato plants.... and in the winter, they come inside. I hand-catch and drown them but is there a better solution?

Answer: Yes they are a nuisance. You can spray or dust Sevin on them now, so they won't puncture your tomato fruits. Wash before eating. As far as coming inside, you can either use a home insecticidal perimeter spray or vacuum them up.
